SPECIAL GUEST: Maja D'Aoust presenting two brand new workshops on Shamanic Alchemy and Fire!

Maja will be examining the alchemical fire and the purpose of Burning the Hermetic Vessel. The mechanism for Alchemy is fire, which burns all things to prima materia. Peer into the forge and join the crucible shamans who have used fire since the dawn of time to alter our world. This concept will be taken apart piece by piece to understand what fire is, in its physical, metaphorical and alchemically symbolic sense. In her workshop, Maja will introduce Tantric techniques to the participants to help them create the Hermetic vessel within their own bodies. The fire within has been practiced by Indian and Chinese Alchemists for thousands of years and is the mirror of the laboratory fires of the western Alchemists.

Maja's interest in Alchemy and the esoteric sciences spans her entire lifetime. After completing her Bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Maja studied Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture and later earned her Masters degree in Transformational Psychology at the University of Philosophical Research with a focus on Shamanism, the I Ching and Ancestors in her thesis work. Maja worked for 11 years as the librarian of Manley P. Hall's Philosophical Research Society where she also lectured for years on Alchemical topics.

In Tibetan lore, the bardo refers not just the visionary space of transition between death and birth, but to all phases of our lives. We are always in between. Erik Davis is a writer, teacher, award-winning journalist, and occasional performer. His most recent book is Nomad Codes: Adventures in Modern Esoterica. He also penned the cult classic Techgnosis, along with Led Zeppelin IV and The Visionary State: A Journey through California's Spiritual Landscape.
