CREATING SACRED SPACES (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) Join Areeya in co-creating the sacred shrine space for the evening's fire. Together, we will be transforming the pavilion into a sacred space of memory and messages. Bring whatever altar decor you would like to share (make sure your name is on your stuff and remember to get it before you leave!). The theme is "Honoring those who have passed," so bring on those skulls and bones, those photos of your beloved dead; use your imagination and join us!
BONE DANCE & ALCHEMIFIRE RITUAL (9:00 PM until Sunrise) Our Orientation will begin at 10:00pm, followed by Desert Moon Circle facilitating the opening ritual, a ceremony of honoring the ancestors and beloved dead, the turning of the year, and opening the way for the rest of the night's magick.....
After the ceremony, we will go straight on into our All-Night Sacred Alchemifire Circle; drumming, dancing and singing up the sun. Please remember to bring warm clothes (the desert gets chilly/windy this time of year), plenty of water to drink and to share, finger food snacks for the food altar, drums and instruments, chants and poetry, chairs for your place to sit and rest outside the circle, and a flashlight.
In past years, community members have created beautiful altars honoring the ancestors - do you have something you would like to create or contribute? Email Areeya at areeyaworld@gmail.com if you would like to help create the visual, artistic magic of the night. If you wish to spin fire in the circle, please let us know ahead of time, so that we can ensure everybody's safety.
If you'd like to make a donation of firewood or money to the Goddess Temple, please feel free to do so, but there is no fee for this evening's event. No pets, drugs, alcohol, or firearms please.
Location: The Goddess Temple in Cactus Springs (about an hour away from Las Vegas) Please Register if you plan to attend, so that we can plan ahead, as well as keep you informed.
Sunday October 21st HEARTSHARE GATHERING (7:00 PM - 11:00 PM) Join us for an enchanted evening of Community Relaxation and Re-Integration, as well as for sharings of music, magic or other mysteries. Please DO NOT bring food or drink, as this is at a restaurant that has plenty to order of delicious Mediterranean dishes.
Location: The Olive Mediterranean Grill, 3850 E. Sunset, Las Vegas (near Sandhill) Please Register if you plan to attend, so that we can plan ahead, as well as keep you informed.
If you have special skills that you'd like to donate to the Vegas Vortex, please let us know; many hands make light work for all! It is likely we'll have out of town guests coming to Las Vegas for this incredible weekend; please keep an eye on the Vegas Vortex Discussion Group and consider opening your homes to friends from far away!
If you have any questions, or need help planning your trip, finding places to stay, or any other needs, feel free to contact the Registrar at registrar@vegasvortex.com.
We look forward to seeing you all for an incredible weekend of gratitude, celebration and homecoming!
In love, Spinner, Jeff, Morganne & all your friends in the Vegas Vortex
